this project was an interview on the topic of home. home to everyone is a sensitive and emotional subject, and everyone has their own stories of their home. to hongbo, home is far away from the other side of the world. home to hongbo is more than a space that carries his memories with his family but is in his heart.

i decided to have the interview in our ottawa home because i feel that hongbo would be more open and relaxed with our conversation. although his home is not in ottawa, he still spends most of his time in ottawa during his study. in addition, the ottawa home is a contrast to his home but is also a comfort for him when he cannot go back home quite often. we had a long conversation, and he shared lots of thoughts and memories about his home. this audio portrait captured one of his stories about home during the spring festival.
